Food as medicine for sickness
Of late, there are plenty of sharing online on food to be used as medicine to cure some sickness. Some event include teaching on each fruit, veggie, spice, etc to be used a medicine. Well, no harm. It is not a processed food and comparatively it would not be worst than taking pills of which was processed.
You may also heard this statement before - "You are what you eat". Well is extremely true. So, if you found your body is giving you an alarm, start to change on your lifestyle, eating habit inclusive the food that you took.

医学之父希波克拉底有句名言:“让食物成为您的药物,而不要让药物 成为您的食物。”
我们的饮食习惯,关乎着我们的健康。尤其身患重病者,饮食甚至关乎病情的转变。我有一位朋友,他在国外肝炎病发,被紧急送入院治疗。经过一番治疗,他的胆红素(Bilirubin)指数从1000多降至300多。一个月后,他仍然无法出院,因为他的胆红素指数仍然保持300多。后来,他的家人安排他转院,到了另一家医院。想不到,不出一个星期,他的胆红素指数降至90多,已经可以出院了。
这两家医院所给的治疗几乎一模一样,唯一不同的地方,就是病人的膳食是经过严格专家考量过的食疗。这就是食物疗法的重要性。有时候,只要您愿意放下您所不该吃的,您的病就好了。
How to cook heathlier dishes?
My friend introduced the little kitchen to me in year 2012 and I was impressed with the low temperature and healthier cooking compared to gas cooker. Most of the nutrient in our food were damaged by the way we cook. I am so excited with this product and it took me more than 6 months to decide to buy until I found my immune system was not that strong compared to younger time. This is the time that I bought this little kitchen - Thermomix. I just want to be the user although my friend persuade me to be the partner. Not the right time, I guess.
I tried on the machine and I found I am happy to prepare more healthier food for my family. I would like to share an article that I have read from kwongwah.com.my.

一个再健康的食物,只要经过错误的烹调方式,就会变成致癌物质。所以,烹调是食物疗法中最讲究,也是最重要的一个环节。比如说面包是由小麦做成,应该是一种很有营养的食物。但是,在高温烘焙过程中,所有营养几乎全被杀死,所以我常说面包是“空洞食物”。为了帮小麦讨个公道,我研发了低温烘焙面包,及无烘焙面包,成功的保留了面包原有的营养。
在众多烹饪法当中,最健康的烹饪就是“蒸”,接着才是“煮”和“炖”。美国纽约大学西奈山医学院的海伦·弗拉萨拉教授(Helen Vlassara)表示,在缺水的情况下,以高温长时间烹煮食物,会使食物中的醣类、蛋白质和脂肪产生大量的“晚期糖化终产物”(Advanced Glycation End Products, AGEs)。这些毒素,会使体内的炎症加重,而且还会使癌细胞更活跃。
此外,专家们还发现,“蒸”不但能够保留食物的原汁原味,还能够保留食物中更加多的水溶性维生素,如维生素B群和维生素C。如果是“煮”和“炖”,食物中的营养成分会流到汤汁中,所以最好连汁也一块儿吃完。“炖”的好处,是能够有效的把食物中的活性营养“熬”出来,并且让坚硬的食物炖软,有利于老年人的消化和吸收。
工欲善其事,必先利其器。选择正确的炊具也很重要,尤其尽量不要用铝制、铁制、铜制等的炊具,包括含有特氟隆(Teflon)的“不粘锅”。其中,坏处最大的是“铝煲”和“不粘锅”。这两种炊具容易在烹饪过程中和食物产生化学作用,而使食物中掺杂一些重金属或化学毒物。目前,美国环保署已证实,过量摄取含特氟隆的食物,将导致肝癌。那么,应该选择怎样的炊具呢?首先,最好的炊具基本上必须是由不锈钢制成的。
Shall healthy lifestyle start early?
A lot of sickness tends to attack younger age nowadays....and I really felt health is important after my father demised suddenly. Now I am also facing some health challenges - lumpy breast.
Immediately two days after the medical result email came from my GP (General Practitioner), me and my hubby started on juice diet, something that we have procrastinate for long. Really a wake up call for us, with family history, our risk were extremely high on sickness like cancer, HBP, high cholesterol and other chronic disease.
May be with the lifestyle commonly lived by every working people during this century, these kind of sickness geared towards younger age compared to older generation. What is the cause possibly brought to this? Lack of time to exercise? Too much stress in life? or ......
Commonly, I can see that most family cannot survive with only Man of the family going to work especially low, low and middle income earner group compared to older days and of course the external factor impact the most these days - economy of the country and competitive edge.
No matter what is the external factor, real healthy lifestyle shall first start early with healthy food intake and moderate exercise. May all my friends out there live happily and healthier in the days to come.

Creativity for parent
Is quite a while that this blog does not updated. Well, as a parent, sometimes, you need to be creative too in managing, coaching and providing guidance to your child. For me, I do face some head ache especially in communicating with them. To us as a parent we just need to ensure that they are growing up healthy in mind and body but it seems that this is a big challenge to parent especially working mother.
Biside juggling with time for work, home, hubby, own parent, we need to at least spend some quality time with children. Play with them, chat with them and most importantly have to let them felt that you are as "in" as they are and share their like and dislike although you really don't sometimes.....
In conclusion, you have to be a kid when you are with them.
